You can train to become a counsellor if you take a number of Chrysalis courses offered by Chrysalis Not For Profit. However, there a number of practical factors you need to take into consideration before you choose which course is right for you. Where and when can you take Chrysalis courses?

Where can you take a Chrysalis course?

When you take a Chrysalis course you’re required to attend a full class, one weekend every month. We also ask you to meet with fellow students to arrange practice sessions. This means that you need to be in travelling distance of one of the venues where your chosen course is held.

We hold our courses in 33 locations across the UK. This includes most major cities such as London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Glasgow, Leeds, Belfast and Cardiff. You’ll normally start your course in the venue where you were interviewed. Please refer to venue locations on our website to determine the nearest Chrysalis course venue to you.

When can you take a Chrysalis course?

These venues provide Chrysalis courses throughout the year. This excludes July, August and late December. You can start your course in spring or autumn. This depends on the venue you have signed up for, as different venues begin courses at different times of the year. Refer to our brochure to find out the exact start time of your chosen course.

Venue permitting, you can enrol on your course any time you wish once you’ve been offered a place. However, Chrysalis would suggest that you enrol a few months before your training programme is due to start. This allows you to obtain funding, reserve your place and make the appropriate life decisions that will allow you to commit your time to training to becoming a counsellor.
