Karen Ferguson, head of hypnotherapy at Chrysalis courses offered by Chrysalis Not For Profit, recently wrote an editorial for City A.M. She argued that successful people do stupid things because they’re desperate for stress relief.

Lord Sewel recently resigned from the House of Lords after reports surfaced indicating that he allegedly took cocaine. This caused Karen to wonder why people who have been as successful as Lord Sewell engage in stupid, even life threatening, activities.

Lord Sewel is one of many successful people who’ve hit the headlines in recent years for doing stupid things. Karen suggested that these people aren’t intentionally setting out to ruin their reputations, rather their actions are determined by something more powerful, something over which they have little control; the human subconscious. Why Do You Journal When Studying Chrysalis Courses?

As part of studying one of the Chrysalis courses offered by Chrysalis Not For Profit, we ask you to record your learning experiences down in a journal.

Journal your learning experiences

When you study the Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills Course, Counselling Skills and Theory Course or the Psychotherapeutic Counselling Course, you’ll be asked to write a journal every month. A portion of your journal will be marked on a monthly basis, whilst the remainder will be marked at a later date. This is a vital part of your learning experience.

Can You Apply for Chrysalis Courses if You’re Disabled?

We welcome anybody who has a disability to apply to study a range of Chrysalis courses offered by Chrysalis Not For Profit.

Application criteria

You can study a variety of courses with Chrysalis Not For Profit that’ll give you the training you need to establish a career as a professional counsellor. Each Chrysalis course begins with a one year programme that provides you with a QCF Level 3 Certificate in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills from the AIM Awards.
