A route to recognition by the Professional Standards Authority

Chrysalis courses provide you with a route to an Accredited Register (AR) recognised by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). This is the organisation which acts as an independent voice for the pubic in the regulation of health and care professionals in the UK.

The PSA uses accredited registers to assess organisations which register unregulated health and social care practitioners. This allows the public to choose a practitioner from a list of vetted professionals. The organisation oversees the General Medical Council, Nursing & Midwifery Council, National Counselling Society, National Hypnotherapy Society and others.

Join the National Counselling Society or National Hypnotherapy Society

You can join an AR by taking a Chrysalis course.  This is because, where indicated in our course guide, training programmes are fully accredited by either the National Counselling Society or the National Hypnotherapy Society, which are both AR holders.

When you are accepted onto your chosen Chrysalis course, you’ll become a student member of either the National Counselling Society or the National Hypnotherapy Society. When you complete your chosen course you’ll become an accredited member.

There are a host of benefits to membership of either the National Counselling Society of the National Hypnotherapy Society. Not only will membership allow you to join an AR recognised by the PSA, you could also become eligible to join the Royal Society of Public Health. This is an independent charity which dedicates itself to the improvement of public health and well-being.
